sunshine, sunshine, raining, sunshine...

it was one of my closest friends' baby shower yesterday.  they are expecting "baby" to arrive in the middle of may!  i made the cutest sunshine rainbow plush for him/her...  i used chez beeper bebe's tutorial.  it was fun and easy to make!  i made it out of a cotton towel fabric instead of the fleece as indicated in the tutorial.

i used the chain stitch to create the face...

love the pretty ribbons...  i arranged them in the "roygbiv" order.

pinned the ribbons to the fabric.  i took two photos because i loved how the ribbons surrounded the face!  another note, i double stitched the ribbons to prevent it from coming out in the future...  i'm assuming that baby will tug and pull on these tags with their lil' fingers, even their mouth!

the finished product!

congratulations to the lovely couple, and parents to be...  so happy for you rachel!

i hope your "sun"day was lovely!
xo, carla

I just love the yellow toweling you used--really lovely. And the ROYGBIV is my preferred color order too--I love that colorwheel effect. I hope you will share photos in my Flickr group--I am sure your design will inspire others.
