i've been bugging one of my best friends to send me a photo of her daughters for more than 5 mos. so, i finally gave up asking. our friends usually arrange a gathering whenever she's in town. we also do a gift exchange when our get-together ends up being around a holiday season. so, we set up a secret santa... and guess who ended up getting me and vice versa...

so i get the chance to open my gifts, and this was the first thing i open up! isn't it a beautiful snow globe?!

(it definitely makes up for the second gift, which was a toronto maple leaf door mat - oh the horror!)

i think that the holidays took a toll on my blogging

i'm back after a busy holiday season... just really enjoyed spending quality time with my family (when i wasn't at work). i'm more relaxed as soon as Christmas is over. don't get me wrong, i adore Christmas, it's one of my favorite holidays - the other is halloween. i hope you had an awesome holiday, i definitely did. here's a sneak peek of what's to come on my next blog... it's never too late to blog Christmas and good times... this is dominic's Christmas ornament for 2009.

nails of a "domestic goddess"

although i am far from being a domestic goddess, this color might be one that a domestic goddess would wear... i love how it is matte, and i'm not usually a huge fan of purple, but this definitely proves that i can love purple.

i picked this color up with my sis in law, aileen. i'm sure she is as thrilled as i am... definitely a color that can brighten a cloudy, rainy day. this is exclusively found at sephora (by OPI).

i'm in love...

i just melted when my hubby sent me this photo... it was taken by my brother when they were all hanging out. *sigh*

my first "weekend hand(s)" post!

i have a nail polish obsession. it all started when i was still 5 years of age. my cousin, cyrra, always wore the darkest red/brown nails... and i've been smitten ever since...

the reason why i call this weekly post "weekend hand(s)", is that i work in an environment that does not allow my polish to stay on for a day with out a scratch. i am a dental lab technician and i work with hand tools - enough said. so, i usually get my nails done on a friday, and when monday rolls around that's the end of the manicure. a sad, sad day...

i'm going to start posting a photo of my "manicured hands" (focus on the nails, for obvious reasons... LOL) once a week.

here, i am wearing "kangarooby" - OPI. it is from their australian collection back in early 2008. i love hunting for discontinued colors, and i was so ecstatic when i found a couple of bottles from a local nail salon!

next week, i will be rockin' a color found here or here... i looove OPI! most likely, "domestic goddess" that i picked up at sephora with my sis-in-law, aileen, yesterday.

i saw this amazing blog through one of my friend's website, a while back (and i've been thinking about it since)... if you are wondering what this is all about, this should sum it up: The Toy Society spreads the love throughout the streets of the world. Nothing to it really just a bunch of handmade toys looking for a nice home. this will officially be my first handmade doll! i'm not sure how long this will take me, but the thought of making some one happy - well, makes me happy! if you want to make someone's day, visit the toy society.

my first post!

...so i started this blog almost a year ago. this is officially my first post, YAY! kellie, i started it (finally).

had an awesome day! we adopted, max, today, my son's favorite character in "where the wild things are." we were renting some movies and somewhere along the aisles, he found max... he yelled, "mommy, MAX!!! it's max, sooo cool!" we just had to get it for him. dom is the sweetest boy, he would spontaneously say, "i love you!" it totally makes my day.

we are having a lazy family day... we just wanted to relax and prepare for another work day... oh and cleaning too. a day in the life of a working mom!
